The Loewe x Studio Ghibli collaboration. The previous two collaborations, “My Neighbor Totoro” and “Spirited Away,” were both sold out immediately, and the third and final collaboration is the newly announced “Howl’s Moving Castle. Unlike the previous two films, this one has an original story by Diana Wynne Jones.
Familiar characters such as the main characters Sophie and Howl, the fire demon Calcifer, Markl, and the Witch of the Waste Land are brought to life in bags, clothing, and leather accessories through Loewe’s creative approach.
To celebrate the launch of the collection, a pop-up store will bring the world of “Howl’s Moving Castle” to life in Omotesando, Tokyo, for seven days only, from February 2 (Thursday) to February 8 (Wednesday), 2023. This pop-up store, which requires reservations, is the only one in Japan where visitors can check out the entire lineup of the collection at once. The exterior of the store is designed to look as if a moving castle has actually appeared, and the store will feature background paintings from the movie provided by Studio Ghibli, as well as a photo spot where visitors can take pictures in Calcifer’s fireplace. In the Kansai region, a six-day pop-up store will be held at the Hankyu Umeda main store starting on February 2 (Thursday).
