EMOTISCAPES is a series of screenprinted portraits rooted in my continuing sketch study of faces. The starting point of this series is Charles Darwin’s “The Expression of the Emotions in Man and Animals”, and each work strives to flesh out a different one of Darwin’s archetypes of human emotional expression with a unique touch, color, and composition inspired by that specific emotion.
