もはや飽和期にはいり、まったく見るのが追いつかない本数放送されているアイドルを目指すオーディションサバイバル番組（通称：サバ番）。多チャンネル時代でオンラインのABEMAだけでも韓国の「B：MY BOYS」と「BOYS Ⅱ PLANET」が放送中。日本ではBMSGが3つ目のグループのメンバーを探す地上波とYouTubeの「THE LAST PIECES（通称：ラスピ）」がパッと思いつくもので、Timelesz Projectに出演していた西山智樹と前田大輔が仲間探しをする「TAG SERCH」とか事務所主催のものも進行中。
そこにきて、おそらく参加メンバーの顔がさらされる数では国内最大規模の「PRODUCE～」シリーズが戻ってくるのだから、たぶん国内外のサバイバル番組に参加済の面々が登場することは確実。とくにこれまでJO1、INI、ME:Iと成功を収めているので、ここでランクインすることはほかのサバイバル番組のようにデビューしたけどろくな活動できないとか即解散とかってことはないでしょうし。本当にサバイバル番組で勝ち抜いてもちゃんと活動できないって残酷だなって思います。
そこに加えて、今回は募集が「日本国内在住者」という規制は取り払われて、真のグローバル募集になる模様。
その名も「PRODUCE 101 JAPAN 新世界」。
対象年齢は「2026年2月1日時点にて、満15歳に達している男性」とのことで、上限はとくに明記されていません。この日程を見ると、おそらく番組収録は学校が休みに入る12月下旬から始まり、放送は翌2026年2月1日以降なのでしょうね。
応募期間は2025年7月17日～2025年9月4日23:59:59(日本時間）
その本気度はオーディション方式にも表れていて、LAで行われるK-CONでも予選が行われるそうです。

1. Visit Audition Room (Room 510, West Hall, LA Convention Center.)
2. Scan the QR code displayed on-site.
3. Fill out the On-site application form that appears after scanning.

4. After submitting the form, please check the email or message from our staff
with your assigned audition time.
5. Arrive at your assigned audition time and join the audition as guided by our staff.
Note: On-site registration will be accepted in the order of arrival.
If all slots are filled, you may be scheduled for an online audition via ZOOM later.
We recommend arriving early to secure an on-site audition.

・ Vocal, dance, or rap (one or more) + interview
・ Please prepare a performance under 1 minute, using either a cappella
or music of your choice.
(If the music you wish to use is available on YouTube, we can play it for you on-site.
If you need the music to start from a specific part, please note the exact starting time
in advance.)
◆ How to Get to the Exclusive KCON LA On-Site Audition Room
・ Upon entering the LA Convention Center, you will pass through a security checkpoint
(metal detector and bag inspection).
・ After that, you may enter the building freely.
